Design Services
Cara Design & Build specializes in residential building design and residential renovation design. As an experienced renovation contractor, we make sure that all of our designs comply with building codes so you can enjoy your space, stress free. Each renovation and build design we create is customized to meet our clients’ specifications and vision.
When you work with Cara Design & Build, rest assured that we will make sure the design we create and build for you is stunning to look at and functions well for you.
Full Service Design
Full service interior design means that we are involved throughout the entire renovation process. We will be there for the initial consult, site measurements, concept development, design development, sourcing, supplier visits, order placements, documentation, construction, clean and installation, styling and project completion.
Virtual Design
Virtual design means that you get access to Cara Interior Design expertise without retaining “Full Service Design”. Each Virtual Design is unique and completely customized to suit your space and budget. The Virtual Design is completed online so there is no need for in person appointments. This service is perfect for the DIY’er who needs the designer touch. Our design boards will help you clearly visualize your fully finished space; taking away all the guesswork and ensuring you love ALL aspects of your design. We offer limited Virtual Designs each month and they tend to book up quite quickly, click Virtual Design Inquiry below to start your design.
What’s Included:
Detailed Room Layout - A detailed designed room layout plan, drawn to scale so that you can be sure that each item we have sourced for your space will actually fit.
Concept Board & Source Guide - Concept board or “mood board” is a great visual of the finished space. It will show all items we have expertly sourced for your project (and alternative options for most items that are recommended), in one space; to give you a visual feel for the design. Alongside this concept board, will be an itemized source guide, a fully interactive PDF with direct links to view and purchase items for your space.
How Virtual Design Works:
Step 1. Click VIRTUAL DESIGN INQUIRY button below and complete the questionnaire.
Step 2. Once the virtual design inquiry form is complete and we get a better idea of what is required for your project, we will suggest the appropriate package, timelines and pricing.
Step 3. Your Design process begins once we have all the information needed. Most Virtual Designs are completed in 1-2 weeks.
Step 3. You receive your Concept Board and your Itemized Sourcing List for your Virtual Design. You approve or reject all items from your Concept Board and request any alternatives within 7 days of receiving your Virtual Design.
Step 4. Your finalized Virtual Design Package will be emailed to you. Your package is an interactive PDF and you can shop everything in your Virtual Design. Now you are on your way to creating your dream space!
Interior Styling
Interior styling is the staging of a room so that it looks the best that it can, functions well and expresses your style. All finishes and styling items will be hand-picked for your space by our interior stylist to make your home picture worthy. As a bonus of working with Cara Design & Build, you get access to trade discounts whenever they are given to us and are in the range of 10-30% off, depending on the supplier.
Interior styling includes:
A design concept for furniture, soft furnishings, art and accessories while using your existing pieces when possible.
We visit suppliers to select furniture/accessories on your behalf
Placement and coordination of trade orders for all furniture/accessories.
Your home will be styled once the build is completed and furniture and accessories have arrived.
We meet with you and do site visits, as required, to achieve above goals.
General Contracting
Our Project Managers handle everything from product selection guidance to city permit application & inspections to ensure that your home renovation flows as smoothly as possible while adhering to project timelines and budget. Our team encompasses every aspect of the construction service, and will follow our proprietary 7 Step process to ensure a transparent and smooth renovation.

A RenoMark Renovator Agrees to:
Be a member in good standing with the LHBA.
Abide by the LHBA Code of Ethics.
Provide a detailed, written contract (including scope of work) for all jobs.
Offer a minimum two-year warranty of all work. (excludes minor home repair).
Carry a minimum of $2 million liability insurance.
Have coverage for workplace safety and employers' liability and/or only work with sub contractos who carry such coverage.
Carry all applicable licenses and permits.
Maintain a professional level of knowledge on current building codes, permit procedures, and technical skills through continuing education at LHBA.
Maintain a safe and organized work site.
